Six Ways Leaders Get in the Flow for Success

Can you remember the feeling of playing sports and getting in the flow of the game, where it felt 100% natural? How about those fleeting but fulfilling moments when you hit a golf shot right in the sweet spot?

Where is your “sweet spot” in leadership?

  • Are you operating in your giftings without fear or reserve?
  • Are you helping others succeed, encouraging them, and adding value to increase their confidence?
  • Are you delivering results with passion?
  • Are you having fun and providing moments of joy and laughter?
Here are six ways leaders can get in the flow for success:
1. Become the hero in your own life.
Decide each day the small, yet significant ways you can make a difference. Don’t leave moments that matter on the table. Be a hero of impact, influence, and inspiration!
2. Become an intentional leader.
Make a mental and physical list of intentional qualities you possess (optimism, kindness, openness, listening, emotional strength, and enthusiasm).
3. Become a dream believer.
Take time to believe big dreams and do not settle. Believe big but discipline yourself to take small actions each and every day.
4. Become a passion torch.
Just as the olympic torch runners run towards the coliseum to light the big torch, carry your torch daily. Don’t let anyone or anything distinguish your passion.
5. Become a leader of leaders.
Realize there are leaders waiting for you to tap their greatness. You and I are commissioned to raise up leaders. Recognize that significance comes from helping others “rise up” to the leadership challenge to lead… it’s important to lead where you are!
6. Become courageous and feel no fear.
I look back to a time in my life where I had too much fear and insecurity. The Romanian-American gymnastics coach, Bela Karolyi, is famous for saying, “Feel no fear,” before competitions.

To get in the flow, we must be out own hero, become intentional, dream big, become a passion torch, lead leaders, and feel no fear!
