How to Conquer Self-Doubt with Seven “I Will” Statements

Several years ago I scaled a rock wall that was three stories high. I was secured with ropes and a very comfortable harness. The instructor told me: “keep your eyes focused up– don’t look down“. It worked even though I have a pretty serious fear of heights. Once I was at the top he said: “now lean back and release and trust us to lower you down“. The toughest moment was letting go and trusting. He had us repeat “I can do this– I will conquer this wall!
It may sound simple but that “I will” statement kept me focused and away from my fear.

Here are Seven “I Will” Statements to Conquer Self-doubt and Fear:

I will…
1. Believe things I have not believed in
Question: What will I believe in for the next 90 days?
2. Attempt things I have not attempted
Question: What new thing will I attempt? Personally? Professionally?
3. Accomplish what I have not accomplished 
Question: What one BIG accomplishment will I crush in the next 90 days?
4. Meet people I have not met
Question: Who can I have better connections through emails in the next 2 weeks?
5. Motivate people I have not motivated
Question: How can I expand my reach in the next 30-45 days?
6. Lead people I have not led
Question: How specifically can I take my leadership to the next level in the next 30 days?
7. Team up with someone I’ve not teamed up with before
Question: How can I expand my team to increase our impact?

“I will” statements trigger your subconscious mind to drive conscious behaviors. Don’t underestimate the power of “I will” statements. I challenge you to repeat two to three of these daily– you’ll see the change in yourself and the results!
