7 STEPS TO CREATING HIGH-IMPACT GOALS

Warren Buffet is a self-made multibillionaire. His personal wealth was acquired entirely within his own lifetime and is roughly twice the size of Harvard University’s endowment.
He gives leaders a three-step process for creating high-impact goals:
  1. First, write down a list of 25 career goals.
  2. Second, do some soul-searching. Out of those 25 career goals, circle the 5 highest priority goals. JUST FIVE.
  3. Third, take a good look at the other 20 you didn’t circle. These are the goals you avoid at all costs. WHY?
  • They will distract you.
  • They will consume your time and energy.
  • They will take your eyes off your 5 most important goals.
Add one more important step:
Ask yourself, “To what extent do my Top 5 goals serve my life purpose?”.
The more they’re a part of the same goal hierarchy, serving the same ultimate purpose, the more focused your passion will be.

All things considered, I came up with the Leader’s Ultimate Goal-Setting Process: 7 Steps to Creating High-Impact Goals.

Here’s to goal-seeing and goal-seizing!
